Ground investigation service "Swedish-style sounding test"

It is recommended in the "Guidelines for the Basic Design of Small-Scale Buildings" edited by the Architectural Institute of Japan.

At Geotech Co., Ltd., we offer a wide range of services including the commonly used Swedish sounding test for residential foundation surveys, as well as boring surveys suitable for large buildings and various soil tests. The "Swedish sounding test" was adopted around 1917 by the Swedish State Railways for investigating poor roadbeds and later became widely used in Scandinavian countries. It was introduced in Japan around 1954 by the Ministry of Construction for foundation surveys of embankments. In 1976, it was established as a JIS standard, and now most foundation surveys for residential houses are conducted using this test, known as JISA1221 (2002). 【Features】 ○ A rod with a screw point attached to the tip is loaded with up to 100 kg to measure penetration. ○ When penetration stops, the handle is rotated to screw it into the ground, measuring the half-turn Newton required to screw it in 1 meter. ○ During the test, sounds transmitted through the rod and penetration resistance are used to differentiate between sandy soil and clayey soil. ○ In soft strata, surveys can be conducted to a depth of about 10 meters. Ground investigation service "Standard Penetration Test"

It is the most commonly conducted ground survey during the design and construction phases of construction work.

The ground investigation method commonly referred to simply as boring investigation is formally known as the boring and standard penetration test. This investigation utilizes holes drilled by boring (i.e., hollowing out) to conduct standard penetration tests that measure the hardness of the ground at intervals of one meter. Typically, this is carried out simultaneously with soil sampling. The data obtained from the standard penetration test is referred to as the N value, which can serve as a guideline for estimating ground stability. 【Features】 ○ The most commonly conducted ground investigation during design and construction in construction projects. ○ Clarifies the composition of strata by excavating the investigation site and observing the soil. ○ Measures the N value to understand the relative hardness and compactness of the soil in situ. ○ Can penetrate any deep or hard layer. Ground investigation service "Liquefaction Survey"

We have prepared a four-stage method ranging from a preliminary assessment based on data to a detailed assessment involving boring investigations.

Liquefaction surveys (liquefaction assessments) are investigations that determine the potential for liquefaction during an earthquake based on ground and water level conditions. By understanding whether the site is prone to liquefaction and implementing appropriate liquefaction countermeasures, damage can be minimized. GeoTech Co., Ltd. offers four levels of methods, ranging from preliminary assessments based on documentation to detailed assessments involving boring surveys. 【Features of GeoTech】 ○ Experienced analysis staff (3 certified geological survey technicians) ○ Many employees hold qualifications as residential ground technicians and chief technicians from the NPO Housing Ground Quality Association ○ Ground consulting before and after the survey ○ Achievements in ground surveys and ground reinforcement work in the metropolitan area are compiled in the Ground Information Provision System (GEODAS), improving diagnostic accuracy through database creation and comparison with neighboring data ○ Courteous service to clients For more details, please contact us or download the catalog.
